Tuck Shop restaurant phoenix arizona

Tuck Shop Restaurant…A+++!

Last night Melissa, the Retro Raven, and I had the PLEASURE of eating at the brand new restaurant…The Tuck Shop.

OH…MY…GOD!

The food was incredible, the service was incredible, the architecture and interior design were incredible!

This is for sure going to be my new favorite spot…

The restaurant concept comes from DJ Fernandes, of Construction Zone, who has hired an amazing staff to carry out his vision.

The simple, comfortable interior is the perfect backdrop for the menu and wine list.

We ordered the roasted beets, which we were told that even people who dont like beets love these (i love beets…and of course loved these!). I thought Melissa was going to have a heart attack after tasting them. Beets are her favorite vegetable…she was soooo happy!

We also ordered these insanely amazing figs stuffed with chorizo. Again, totally insane! This was my favorite part of the meal, the combination of flavors was perfect (I almost ordered more!).

The third dish was the pork tenderloin…i dont think that I have ever eaten better pork in my life. The flavor was perfect, the temperature was perfect, and the texture was perfect.

We ordered wine, along with water of course, and were pleasantly surprised to find the water had a slight cucumber flavor. We are told that this was DJ’s idea…right on DJ!

I am embarrassed to admit that we didnt just order a dessert, we ordered two! We couldnt decide between the fig pudding and ginger cheesecake, so we got both, and of course ate ALL of it! They were both absolutely insane, but i think we both liked the fig pudding the best (i actually had a dream about that one!).

When the check came…it came with MORE dessert…chocolate chip cookie dough balls…dipped in chocolate! OMG!!!

Seriously, this was the best dinner i have had in a long time, and the prices are super reasonable. This is easily a place you could frequent for incredible food, great wine, comfortable atmosphere, and you wont break the bank.

I’m already trying to figure out when I can go back…

    Overated and overpriced. An average dinner with two drinks, two side salads and an entree each and sharing one desert would set you back about $140 including tax and tip. The food is really just average with small size portions (read overpriced), nothing to go ga- ga about unless you’re up for hanging out smack in the middle of a residential neighborhood and not a homophobe — go for it. The pricing must be for all the lawyers fees DJ Fernandes ensued getting the zoning changed (how did that happen, oh he’s the owner of the Construction Zone - can anyone say rubber stamped by Phoenix Zoning Board) and forcing this place on the neighborhood. The gays will go there because they loooove to hang out in the gayborhood.
